About Us

Why I began to create file folder games: In 2004, my 15 month old became non verbal following his MMR Vaccination.  I’m not sure what my awakening moment was, I had tried (what felt to be) everything.  I had heard to use picture exchange magnets of his items on the refrigerator, well that didn’t work for us.  I tried the GFCF Diet- Gluten Free Casein Free-, that didn’t work for us.  I tried sign language and he was not receptive to that either.  Then one day I realized in all of my attempts, not one dealt with “playing” in Jason’s world. So, I remember, I got on the floor and tuned into Jason.  This took many attempts for him to let me into his world.  He would sit for hours and draw, so I began with removing all drawing materials from his view and sat at the coffee table with his farm house and animals.  He didn’t initially enjoy where I placed his animals and would wind up screaming, and then I’d just try again. I began in short time frames, and then I would return his writing tablet as a reward.  It wasn’t until much later did I realize I was following the Floor time Model.

Items that I used included my own  file folder games,

large piece wood puzzles, fishing pole magnetic games, bouncy balls shape

sorting toys, building blocks, farm house with animal-people figurines, bubbles, Touch and feel

books and pretty much anything in that toy box.  Remember- Follow your childs lead. You need to take an

interest in and respond to the child, make sure to use gestures and verbal reactions.

I describe it as being very animated and teaching your child through interaction how to play.

I've been in business since 2005.  I am so excited to say I have over 4000 satisfied educators and parents utilizing my resources.

As of the end of April 2008 Jason has been released from all special education services and is reading at pretty much the 1st grade level while still in Pre K!
